Enjoy hundreds of trails right from your cabin! You can ride out the front or back gates on our property, they are unlocked. Just open and go on through!


You can also walk on any of the quadding trails out the back gates at the first intersection take a left you will come to an opening with a mountain view.

Alford Creek:

  • Fish species: Mountain Whitefish & Brown/Brook Trout.
  • Location: 10 km west of Caroline on Hwy. 54, joining Clearwater about 6.5 km upstream from the bridge.

Alford Lake:

  • Fish species: Rainbow Trout
  • Location: Travel about 25 km west of Caroline via Hwy. 54 and 591. Head north until the Alford Lake sign is located on the roadside.

Birch Lake:

  • Fish species: Rainbow, Brook, & Brown Trout.
  • Location: Travel 3 km west of Caroline on Hwy. 54, then take the Burnstick Lake turnoff (watch for sign). Continue south for 12 km on the oil road (100 meters from lake).

Burnstick Lake:

  • Fish species: Northern Pike, Walleye, Yellow Perch / Brown, Brook, & Rainbow Trout.
  • Location: South and west of Caroline.

Clearwater River:

  • Fish species: Yellow Perch, Mountain Whitefish, Sucker / Brook, Bull, Rainbow, & Brown Trout. 
  • Location: Enters North Saskatchewan River at Rocky Mountain House. It crosses Hwy. 54 about 7 km west of Caroline, by Hwy. 22 about 16 km south of Rocky Mountain House, and runs parallel to Hwy. 591 and Trunk Road for another 60 km upstream.

Cow Lake:

  • Fish species: Northern Pike, Yellow Perch, & Brown/Rainbow Trout. 
  • Location: Take Hwy. 752, approximately 15 km south of Rocky Mountain House.

Mitchell Lake:

  • Fish species: Northern Pike, Yellow Perch, & Rainbow/Brown Trout.
  • Location: 50 km west of Sylvan Lake on Hwy. 11.

Strubel Lake:

  • Fish species: Rainbow Trout & Yellow Perch.
  • Location: 51 km west of Sylvan Lake on Hwy. 11 to Hwy. 22, then south 10 km, west 10 km and south 2 km.

Swan Lake:

  • Fish species: Northern Pike & Brown/Lake/Cutthroat Trout. 
  • Location: Take Hwy. 22. Drive 35 km to the junction with secondary Hwy. 591 on the right. Follow for 20 km to a side road on the right (north), continue along this road for another 20 km.

Twin Lakes:

  • Fish species: Rainbow Trout & Yellow Perch.
  • Location: Take Hwy. 11, turn right onto Hwy. 756. Follow signs.

Check out the walking trails right on our property! From your cabin, walk towards the red entry gates to our property. Halfway down the driveway on your right, there will be a sign for the "lookout trail" on your right. Walk to the end and you will see a firepit/picnic table area with a viewof the mountains. There is also a walking trail behind the cabins that goes to the front and back gates of our property. 


(Hikes within driving distance)

  • Twin Lakes Trail (4.5 km trail around the lake) and Crimson lake trail (Amerada Trail 10 km) are both just north of Rocky Mountain House. Rocky Mountain House is a 30 minute drive. 
  • Rocky Mountain House National Historic Site has a 4km hiking loop.
  • Crescent falls (5km trail to a waterfall) is about an hour from Rocky mountain house.

Pine Hills Golf Club (approximately a 40 minute drive) often refferred to as the "Gateway to the Great Canadian Rockies" in Central Alberta, is a hidden gem well worth the trip!

There are many gorgeous, peaceful lakes and ponds in the area that you can take your boats and/or canoes to!

Hunting

In such a secluded wilderness destination, there are many excellent surrounding areas for hunting right off of our property!

Snowmobiling

There are endless snowmobile trails around that you can enjoy right from your cabin! You might get lucky and even see some wildlife along the way!
